UK fuel duty was cut last year by 5p a liter to help curb soaring fuel prices both at the pumps and in the home. This is coming to an end, so even though prices haven't returned to what looks like normal, or even reasonable, their about to jump up once more come March 23rd.
London's Ultra low emission Zone is set to once again be pushed outwards for it's third expansion. The idea is to improve air quality, but will simultaneously hit the pockets of millions of Londoners, just when money's too tight to mention. The ULEZ covers all areas within the north and south circular, but will soon engulf all 33 boroughs from April 29th. Those with cars who do not meet the standard will have to pay £12.50 a day when moving on London's roads.
The silver lining for those in the zone is that a £110M scrappage scheme has been set up to help anyone who's on benefits, owns a small business or has charity status. This started in January 2023.

In some streets you have to park on the kerb, otherwise nothing will be able to go anywhere. It's now a reality to our neighbours in the North.
Jeremy Hunt has given a tax break to the top 1% of earners, but for anyone with an electric car, you're going to have to pay. In a move to discourage conscientious environmentalists, Hunt has decreased that in 2025 all vehicles will have to pay Vehicle Excess Duty (VED) of up to £165.
