Summer vacations: 13 Frequent driving mistakes

Are you going to spend the summer by car? These are some mistakes you should avoid the wheel.

1. Do not prepare for the trip.  Driving on any road without thinking that there may be retentions or a more fluid alternative route is not a good idea.

2. Drive at night, to go cooler and avoid traffic jams. But are you going to take the car at times when you're usually asleep? You will drive sleepy, something very dangerous. (And having one or two coke or coffee is not the solution.)

3. Leave the vehicle maintenance for the last minute or not even do it. It is vital, at least, to check the tyre pressure, raising it to what the manufacturer indicates if we are going to drive on highways or highways and/or with the vehicle loaded.

4. Do not respect the safety distance, the big problem of the drivers. Maintain the separation of two or three seconds with the vehicle in front, especially with the vehicle loaded, since your braking distance has increased between 20% and 30%, that is, if you previously needed 60 meters to stop the vehicle now you need about 80 !!

5. Cover the rear window with luggage. If you do, make sure you have the right outside rearview mirror. This is a somewhat compromised and risky situation because we are used to looking through the interior mirror. Therefore, try not to cover the rearview by the interior rearview mirror.

6. Hook a trailer to your tourism and not slow down. The maximum speed in highway or highway, if you take a trailer, is not 120 km / h but 80 or 90 km / h depending on whether the trailer is heavy or light, respectively.

7. Put luggage inside the cabin and do not secure it with the belts. In an accident at 90km/h, an object of 25 kg becomes equivalent in weight to 625 kg.

8. Do not make sure that all occupants wear the seat belt, without exception.

9. Do not respect the speed in crossings. The maximum speed in this type of road is 50 km/h but your brain will think that it is very low speed if it has become accustomed to 90 or 100 km / h of the conventional road.

10. Do not turn on the dipped beam during the day (if your vehicle does not have daylight). It is highly recommended to turn them on to be seen by other users, especially on conventional roads to position your vehicle as soon as possible in overtaking, incorporation of other vehicles, etc.

11. Take medication that causes drowsiness and/or drink any alcoholic beverage. Never do it. Try to stay hydrated during the trip, the metabolism slows down when you have a water deficit.

12.  Use the center lane when the one on the right is free, on tracks with 3 lanes in the same direction. It is anti-regulatory, punishable and fundamentally dangerous. It is not true that "leaving one free on the left to get me ahead is enough."

13. Don't make you see. In case of failure, you have to put the signaling triangles, use the reflective vest, keep the position light if visibility is low or night and, in addition, always turn on the emergency light.
